CANYON, Texas – Following the conclusion of its 2023 season, three West Texas A&M softball players earned All-American status from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). Ruby Salzman and Kyra Lair earned spots on the NFCA teams while Emilee Boyer joined Salzman on the D2CCA teams.
 
Salzman, now a two-time NFCA First Team All-American, earns the honor for the first time since 2019. The Northridge, Calif. native ended the 2023 season with a .391 batting average with 16 doubles, two triples, and 23 home runs. Salzman also racked up 67 runs scored, 61 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases in 22 attempts. For her career, Salzman moved into the top 10 for almost every offensive category and into the top five in hits, runs, doubles, home runs, RBIs, and total bases.
 
Lair, a Third Team honoree, earned her first All-America honor in Maroon and White after an outstanding 2023 campaign. A native of Canyon, Texas, Lair struck out a program-record 18 batters in her perfect game against UT Permian Basin on Feb. 28. Over the course of the season, Lair led the Lady Buffs with 132.1 innings pitched, 18 wins, 5 saves, and 135 strikeouts. Over her five years in a WT uniform, Lair ranks inside the top 10 in wins, innings pitched, complete games, saves, strikeouts, and shutouts.
 
Boyer, the 2023 Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year, earned a spot on the D2CCA Honorable Mention team as a utility player/pitcher. Starting every game in the lineup, Boyer made 25 appearances in the circle with 20 starts. In the circle, the Harrisburg, S.D. native posted a 2.58 ERA over 106 innings with 93 strikeouts. At the plate, Boyer batted .299 with a .598 slugging percentage to go along with seven doubles, 15 home runs, and 53 RBIs.
 
Lair and Boyer became the 20^th and 21^st All-Americans in program history.
