CANYON, Texas – Six members of the West Texas A&M Buffaloes were honored for their efforts on the diamond on Wednesday night as the Lone Star Conference announced their annual postseason baseball honors ahead of this weekend's LSC Championship in San Angelo, Texas.

Senior infielder
Adam Becker was named the league's Player of the Year for the second consecutive season while
Eddy Savoie was tabbed the Academic Player of the Year to become just the second Buff to win the award (Tag Baxter, 2019).Â

Becker was joined on the LSC First Team by
Nick Marshall while
Will Fuenning picked up Second Team accolades,
Kory Schmidt and
Ryan Johnson were also honored as members of the Third Team. Kade Bragg of Angelo State was named the Pitcher of the Year while St. Edward's Lance Little was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year, Kaston Mason of UT Tyler was named the Freshman of the Year while Angelo State was tabbed the league's Coaching Staff of the Year.

Becker became one of the best hitters in Division II baseball over the last two seasons in Maroon & White as the Midland product hit .420 this season with 22 doubles, two triples and 15 homeruns to drive in 74 RBI with 160 total bases for a slugging percentage of .755. Becker becomes just the fourth student-athlete in LSC history to be named the league's Player of the Year multiple times.

Savoie, who is from Montreal, Quebec and majoring in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, boasts a 4.0 GPA. He joined the Buffs in 2022 having already earned an associate's degree in General Studies. He is set to graduate this month, forgoing his senior season to pursue his career. On the field, Savoie hit .272 this season with four doubles and a homerun to drive in 49 RBI while also boasting a .996 fielding percentage with just one error in 283 chances.
