WTAMU Harriers Claim Postseason LSC Awards

The Lone Star Conference announced the 2004 Cross Country All-Conference Awards this week, citing five WTAMU runners.

Freshman standout Jisel Bailon, an El Paso, Texas native, who placed seventh at the LSC Tournament last Saturday was recognized by for her performance with LSC All-Conference honors.

Seniors Ben Muniz and Carmelo Morales, both El Paso, Texas natives, earned LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades for the men while sophomore and Gruver, Texas native, Christi Clift and junior Shemika Sanford, a Boys Ranch, Texas native, claimed the same honor for the women. In order to be eligible for the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, runners must maintain a 3.20 overall GPA.

The WTAMU women finished seventh, while the men were eighth at last week's LSC Championships. Bailon is the lone WTAMU runner who will be competing in the NCAA-II South Central Regional Nov. 6, 2004, at Joplin, Mo.
