Three Lady Buffs Earn LSC Cross Country All-Academic Honors

RICHARDSON, Texas – West Texas A&M women’s cross country members Kristie Hartsfield, Becca Rapstine and Belinda Castanon received Lone Star Conference academic honors, as announced by the League. Hartsfield, a junior Biology major from Perryton, Texas, and Rapstine, a sophomore Sports & Exercise Science major from White Deer, Texas, were honored as members of the six-member LSC Women’s All-Academic Team, while Castanon, a senior Animal Science major was recognized as a member of the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Joining Hartsfield and Rapstine on the all-academic squad are Abilene Christian’s Winrose Karunde, sophomore nursing major from Nyeri, Kenya; Southwestern Oklahoma’s Stefanie Jones, senior Pharmacy major from Fort Smith, Ark,; Tarleton State’s Kymberlee Trnka, senior Exercise & Sports Studies major from Caldwell, Texas and Midwestern State’s Hassie Sutton, sophomore Exercise Physiology major from Keller, Texas Karunde was also named as Academic Runner of the Year. The Lady Buffs’ next outing is Saturday, Nov. 8, when they compete in the NCAA South Central Region Meet, hosted by Incarnate Word at Live Oak City Park in San Antonio, Texas.
