Canyon, Texas - West Texas A&M cross country runner Jeniffer Cherono (Junior, Iten, Kenya) has again been named Lone Star Conference Female Runner of the Week for the week of Oct. 16.

Cherono won the Angelo State Blue & Gold Classic, earning her third overall victory in successive weeks (having won last week's Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree and the Incarnate Word Invitational the previous week). She covered the 5k course in 19:04.00. In four outings this year, Cherono has finished second, first, first and first.

The Lady Buffs' next competition will be Saturday, Oct. 25, when they compete in the Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships, to be held in Kingsville, Texas.
