CANYON, Texas - After earning top individual honors for the first time in her career and helping lead the West Texas A&M Women's cross country team their first team victory of the season, freshman Kristie Hartsfield was selected as Lone Star Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Finishing first in the Tarleton State Invitation, Hartsfield (Perryton, Texas) won in the race in 23:55, eight seconds in front of the second place finisher. Hartsfield helped propel WTAMU to first place finish as a team, as the Lady Buffs took six of the top 15 places at Tarleton.
