WTAMU Runners At McMurray Invitational Saturday

The West Texas A&M University men's and women's cross country teams return to Abilene, Texas to compete on Saturday, September 20 at 9 a.m. at the McMurray Invitational. This will be the teams' third competition of the season and second in a row at Abilene.

The McMurray Invitational is a five mile trek for the men and three miles for the women. This will be the first competition that McMurray has hosted since 1998. Both the men and the women start at 9 a.m.

WT will be running with six other school including the host McMurray, along with Angelo State, Wayland Baptist, Eastern New Mexico, Concordia-Austin, and Sul Ross State.

Senior Jami Hutcherson (Canyon, Texas) had a solid run for the women's team at the Abilene Christian Invite last weekend, finishing 27th overall, and she and her women's team look to improve on their times in this weekends competition. The women finished seventh out of eight teams.

The WT men's cross country team also had a good performance at the Abilene Christian Invite last weekend where junior Santiago Bustillos (El Paso, Texas) finished in 19th-place, along with solid runs by his teammates. The men finished fourth out of eight teams.

All WT cross country runners will look to improve upon their times this weekend.
