Richardson, Texas - West Texas A&M is listed among the top according to the Lone Star Conference women's cross country preseason polls announced by conference officials Thursday.

The Lady Buffs are preceded by Midwestern State with 356 points and are followed by Abilene Christian with 298 points. WT also received a first place vote. Taking the fourth position is East Central with 269 points with Central Oklahoma coming in fifth with 264 points.

Angelo State (234), Tarleton State (169), Southwestern Oklahoma (161), Texas A&M-Commerce (109), Eastern New Mexico (104), Texas A&M-Kingsville (91) and Southeastern Oklahoma (53) round out the poll.

The Lady Buffs open their season on Sept. 12 at the Buffalo Stampede in Canyon, Texas. The race is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
