West Texas A&M University freshman Jisel Bailon finished the Women's NCAA South Central Regional Cross Country Championship six kilometer race in a time of 24:20, placing 47th out of 120 runners Saturday at Joplin, Mo.

Bailon, who was WTAMU's lone representative and was the the Lady Buffs top runner all season, placed seventh at the LSC Championships on October 23 with a time of 23:56 to earn her a berth in the Regional race.

Her best race came at the McMurry Invitational on September 18, where she placed first with a time of 18:59 in over the three-mile course. Bailon's best time over five kilometers, the longest race of the regular season, was in the Angelo State Blue and Gold Classic on October 12, finishing in 19:50, which earned her a second place finish.
