The West Texas A&M University women's cross country team competed in the Lone Star Conference Championship in Durant, Okla. Saturday against 11 other schools and a total of 70 girls ran the race. The Lady Buffs took the eight team place while freshman Jisel Bailon finished the race in seventh place with a time of 23:56 to take the top spot for WTAMU in the race.

Among 70 runners, freshman Tylynn Lackey finshed 50th with a 27:44 time, freshman Sara Combs 52nd with a time of 28:18, freshman Sharen Diggs 54th at 28:26, Shemika Sanford 55th at 28:28, and Christi Clift 60th with a 30:14 time.

Abilene Christian's Adeh Mwamba won the race with a 21:51 time raising her time to take first place in the LSC Championship.

If any of the runners make it to the NCAA-II Regional Championship it will be on November 6th in Joplin, Missouri.
