Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at LSC Championships

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - The West Texas A&M women's cross country team finished fourth on Saturday at the Lone Star Conference Championships in Stephenville, Texas, with a total team time of 1:58:26. Abliene Christian took home the team championship at the event with a time of 1:58:31 while Angelo State and Central Oklahoma ended the race in second and third places. The Lady Buffs were paced by junior Jisel Bailon, who finished in 17th place with a race of 23:25 just a second ahead of teammate Ruby Crox who came in 18th overall at 23:25. The next WTAMU runner to cross this finish line was freshman Kristie Hartsfield as the freshman from Perryton, Texas, posted a time of 23:45 to end the day in 20th place. In the next group of runners to complete the race Belinda Castanon and Amy Garcia finished in 23rd and 24th places with times of 23:54 and 23:56, respectively. Rounding out the WTAMU contingency at the event was junior Bridget Garza who ran a time of 25:01 to finish in 38th place. Loice Cheboi of ACU was the individual winner of the race, finishing with a time of 21:38 to lead the pack.
