Women Compete in Cowboy Jamboree and Finish Strong

The West Texas A&M University women's cross country team travelled to Stillwater, Okla. Saturday, October 4, to compete in the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree. The women's top runner, senior Jami Hutcherson, finished in 84th recording a time of 21:35.
Mirriam Kaumba of Oklahoma Baptist won the 5000 m race with a time of 17:51.
Butler County won the team race with a combined run time of 1:39:33.
The Lady Buffs were not able to compete as a team because they only had four runners competing at the meet. A team needs a minimum of five runners to qualify as a team.
The other team members finished in 187th, Erica Gerber with a run of 25:13, 190th, Danette Ramaekers with a time of 25:21, and Teri Raemaekers finishing 192nd at 25:27.
The women return to action October 14th at San Angelo, Texas at the Angelo State Invite.
