Freshman Gisel Bailon won the McMurry University Invitational Saturday at Abilene, Texas, as she covered the three-mile course in a personal-best time of 18 minutes, 53 seconds.

The Lady Buffs finished with 41 points, while Angelo State had 20 points, as freshman Sharen Diggs finished eighth with a time of 20:22, freshman Sara McCombs finished 11th with a 21:34 time, sophomore Christi Clift ran a 22:47 and finished 13th, just ahead of junior Shemika Sanford (22:59) and freshman Tylynn Lackey (23:17) who were 14th and 15th, respectively.

WTAMU travels to Las Vegas, N.M. next Saturday, Sept. 25, to run in the New Mexico Highlands Invitational.
