LUBBOCK, Texas - The West Texas A&M women's cross country team finished fourth at the Red Raider Jackrabbit Open on Friday evening, while three of men's cross country runners also ran in the event.

The Lady Buffs were led by freshman Kristie Hartsfield, who paced all WTAMU runners with a 14th place finish. Also placing in the top 25 was junior Jisel Bailon, who finished 23rd in 19:13.62.

Finishing in the top 30 was sophomore Belinda Castanon, junior Bridget Garza, senior Ruby Crox and freshman Sierra Manning, who placed in 30th, 32nd, 33rd and 36th respectively. Rounding out the WTAMU runners was freshman Diane Gonzalez, who ended her evening in 56th.

Meanwhile, the men were led sophomore Jose Velasquez, who placed 28th in 27:40.25, freshman Jase Patrick was 43rd after he ran in a time of 29:19.82 and rounding out the Buffalo runners was sophomore Joey Sanchez, who was 52nd in 30:54.80.

The next race for the Buffs is Sat., Sept. 23, at the Tarleton Invitation, while the Lady Buffs will also run in the same event.
