2008: Castanon competed in the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. on Oct. 4. She finished 52nd with a run of 20:37. The West Texas A&M women's cross country team, placed second among six teams competing at the Incarnate Word Cardinal Invitational, held Sept. 27 at Live Oak City Park in San Antonio. Castanon finished seventh overall with a run of 24:31.2. The West Texas A&M women's cross country team won the overall team championship at the Abilene Christian Cross Country Classic, held Sept. 6 on the Sherrod Park course in Abilene. Castanon was 11th overall with a run of 20:26.32.

2007: Castanon was recognized as the NCAA Division II, All-Academic Women's Cross Country Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for her contribution to the team GPA. Castanon was named the KAMR Athlete of the Week. Castanon competed in the NCAA-II South Central Regional meet, hosted by Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo. on Nov. 3. She placed 62nd with a run of 23:50. Castanon earned 2007 Lonestar Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades for maintaining a 3.20 cumulative grade point average or higher. Castanon competed in the LSC Championship in Commerce on Oct. 20, where the team finished third. She placed 25th with a run of 24:59.14. Castanon competed in the Angelo State University, Blue & Gold Classic in San Angelo on Oct. 12, where the team finished second. Castanon competed in the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. on Sept. 29. She finished 33rd with a run of 20:03. The women's cross country team finished fourth overall at the Texas Tech Invitational in Lubbock on Sept. 15. She finished 24th with a run of 19:13:70. Castanon competed in the WTAMU Buffalo Stampede in Canyon on Aug. 31, where she finished 21st.

2006: Castanon competed in the LSC Championship in Stephenville on Oct. 21, where the team received second overall. She placed 23rd with a run of 23:54. Castanon competed at the Angelo State University, Blue & Gold Classic in San Angelo on Oct. 10, where the team finished first as well. Castanon received the WTAMU Scholar-Athlete Award for 2006-07.Castanon competed in the Tarleton State Invitational in Stephenville on Sept. 23, where the team finished first.

2005: Castanon competed in the LSC Championship hosted by Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla. on Oct. 22, where the team finished second. She placed 28th with a run of 25:12. Castanon competed in the annual Oklahoma State University Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. on Oct. 1, where the team finished second overall. Castanon competed in the South Central Regional Championship hosted by Abilene Christian University in Abilene on Sept. 23, where the team finished third. She placed 56th with a run of 25:46.

High School: Castanon graduated in the top ten percent of her class at Del Valle High. She ran for coach Daniel Jasso where shewas namedon the All City Team. She was a state champion in the two mile, with a time of 12:08. Castanon was a member of the National Honor Society and Who's Who History. She also lettered in track.
