CANYON, Texas - West Texas A&M is set to play Grand Valley State in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship hosted by Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., this weekend. The Lady Buffs are making their second straight and 10th overall appearance in the Elite Eight. In 2006, WTAMU beat Lock Haven, 3-1, before falling to North Alabama, 3-0, in the semifinals. The action begins Thursday at 12 p.m. in Lee Arena with Concordia-St. Paul taking on California (Pa.). WTAMU will play GVSU at 2:30 p.m. and then Dowling will go against Western Washington at 5 p.m. Washburn will wrap up the quarterfinal matches at 7:30 p.m. against defending national champion Tampa. Fans can watch all the Lady Buffs play at Elite Eight games live at Feldman's Fieldhouse in Canyon, which will be hosting a watching party with special discounts for WT volleyball fans. The games will also be streamed online at http://www.cstv.com/ncaa/divii/. WTAMU, the Lone Star Conference champions, trumped the Southwest Region by posting wins over Midwestern State, Metro State and host Nebraska- GVSU, the top seed from the Great Lakes Region, advanced to the Elite Eight for the sixth time in the last eight years with wins over Charleston (W.V.), SIU Edwardsville and Lewis. 2007 NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship
