Freshman setter Erin Houlihan was named Lone Star Conference South Division Setter of the Week, announced today (Sept. 28) by the conference office, for her performance over the weekend in leading WTAMU to a 3-0 effort at the LSC Crossover Tournament.

Houlihan, a 5-8 freshman setter from Lincoln, Neb., distributed 162 assists (13.5 assists per game) as the Lady Buffs went 3-0 to improve their perfect all-time record (now 18-0) at the LSC Crossover Tournament. She had 60-plus assists in two of the matches, including a career-high 66 assists in a 3-2 win over Texas Woman's Saturday afternoon and added 60 assists in a 3-1 win over Midwestern State Saturday night.

On the season, Houlihan has dished out 835 assists (12.46 apg), and has served up a team-high 20 service aces, and adds 2.81 digs per game. Houlihan is a graduate of Pius X High School.

WTAMU, 11-7 overall, opens LSC South action on the road Thursday, returning to Abilene, Texas, to face Abilene Christian, the top threat to unseat WTAMU from its throne as LSC South Champions, as the Wildcats were tabbed No. 2 in the LSC South Preseason Poll behind the Lady Buffs, collecting one more first-place vote, but one less point. The Lady Buffs continue on the road to San Angelo, Texas on Saturday to face Angelo State, where last season, ASU snapped WTAMU's NCAA-II record of 77-consecutive wins vs. conference opponents.

WTAMU returns home to The Box on Oct. 8-9 to host the BritKare Lady Buff Challenge. The Lady Buffs open with I-27 foe Wayland Baptist on Friday, Oct. 8, at Noon.
