The West Texas A&M University Sports Information Office received a "Best In The Nation" Award for the 2004 Volleyball Media Guide, awarded by a panel of judges from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The award will be officially presented at the annual CoSIDA Convention and Workshop on July 6 at Philadelphia, Pa.

It is the second year in a row for the Sports Information Office to receive national recognition from CoSIDA, as last year's volleyball media guide received a "Second In The Nation" Award.

The 2004 Volleyball Media Guide was compiled and written by Sports Information Director Zach Fisher, with editing and assistance from Sports Information Assistants Heather McCullough, Kathy Clutterbuck and Wade Coulter.

The cover was designed by Heather Spencer-Mekelburg, a former graphic designer in the WTAMU Office of IITL. Mug shots and team photo by Ed Buffum, Elite Sports Photography. Action photos by Rik Andersen, WTAMU Communications Services Photographer.

It was Fisher's seventh national award, as he received five awards while an assistant in the Pittsburg State University (Kan.) Sports Information Office.

Last year's honor was the first CoSIDA award for the WTAMU Sports Information Office since the 1996 and 1997 Volleyball Media Guides were voted "Best In The Nation" under former SID and current American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Director of Media Relations, Bill Kauffman.
