LAS VEGAS, N.M. -- After a week layoff, the West Texas A&M University tuned up for the Lone Star Conference Tournament in flaring fashion with a four-game victory over New Mexico Highlands Monday,(31-29, 29-31, 30-25, 30-27), behind senior setter Kendra Morgan's sixth triple-double of the season.

The win was WTAMU's 10th in its last 11 matches, as the Lady Buffs roll into the LSC Tournament this weekend at The Box. WTAMU has won 19 of its last 21 matches, improving to 27-7 overall.

Morgan dished out 52 assists, pounded 10 kills and tied a career-high with 23 digs to tally her sixth triple-double of the year.

For her career, Morgan now has 5,943 assists, extending her LSC career assists mark, as she now needs just 25 assists to crack into the NCAA-II career assists Top 10 list.

Fellow senior, libero Kacie Hyatt posted 17 digs Monday night, as she extends her WTAMU school-record for single-season digs, and moves into third place on the Lady Buffs' career digs list. Hyatt now has 1,494 digs, surpassing Michelle Hall's 1,490 digs from 1987-1990. She most likely won't catch No. 2 on the list, Morgan's sister Holly with 1,759 digs from 1995-1998.

However, Hyatt moved in the NCAA-II Top 10 for single-season digs with the 30-point scoring format, as she now has 599 digs on the year.

Monday night, the Lady Buffs' offensive attack was led by freshman outside hitters Ambra Clark and Rachel Altman, as Clark tallied 21 kills and Altman added 16 kills. Clark had a .391 hitting percentage, leading WTAMU to a .231 percentage on the night.

The Lady Buffs' defense limited NMHU to a .196 percentage, as freshman middle blocker Megan Spivey posted a match-high seven blocks.

WTAMU earned the No. 1 seed in the LSC South Division, and received a first-round bye in the conference tournament. The Lady Buffs will face the winner of Texas Woman's-Eastern New Mexico, Friday at 7:30 p.m. at The Box.
