Final Stats

AUSTIN, Texas – The #6 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs fought back from a game one loss to defeat St. Edward’s in four sets 18-25, 25-19, 25-12, and 25-18 on Friday afternoon in Austin, Texas. The win improves the Lady Buff to 28-3 overall on the season.

Set one saw St. Edward’s put up a .389 hitting percentage to counteract WT’s .154 percentage. The Lady Buffs tallied six errors in game one while St. Edward’s registered 17 kills to take the game, 18-25.

WT hit their stride early in set two and never looked back, tallying an average hitting percentage of .404 throughout the last three sets to take the victory.

Laura Prinsen (SR, Spring, Texas) led the team with 20 kills followed by teammates Melissa Harper (SR, Peoria, Ariz.) and Stormi Lancaster (FR, Mobeetie, Texas) with eight kills apiece.

Lancaster led WT in hitting percentage with a .533 while Harper was a force around the net for the Lady Buffs as led the team in blocks, registering one solo and four block assists.

Katie Rickwartz (SR, Canyon, Texas) led the way for the Lady Buffs with 46 assists while Lauren Beville (FR, Hereford, Texas) tallied 15 digs. WT also recorded four service aces on the afternoon, with Lauren Thedford (JR, Carrollton, Texas) leading the team with two.

The #6 Lady Buffs continue their road trip on Oct. 31 as they travel to Kingsville, Texas for a showdown with LSC foe Texas A&M-Kingsville. First serve from Hampton Inn Court is set for 2:00 p.m.
