WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The No. 15 Lady Buff volleyball team remained unbeaten in Lone Star Conference action on Thursday night by sweeping Midwestern State by the scores of 30-28, 30-23 and 30-24 in front of 1,076 fans at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

West Texas A&M improves its overall record on the season to 26-7 and its mark in LSC action to a perfect 10-0. MSU, meanwhile, suffers only its second conference loss of the year, dropping the team to 7-2 in league play and 23-4 overall.

In the first game, the Lady Buffs, led by sophomore outside hitter Laura Prinsen raced out to a 9-4 lead to force an early timeout by the Mustangs. MSU responded after the break, winning eight of the next 10 points to take a 12-11 advantage. The back and forth action continued until the final point of the game when Prinsen gave the Buffs a 30-28 win following a long rally.

Prinsen was again WTAMU's leader offensively, finishing with a match-high 13 kills on the night. Fellow sophomore Melissa Harper added nine on just 14 total attacks to finish with an impressive .571 hitting percentage.

The Lady Buffs forced another early MSU timeout by head coach Venera Flores-Stafford after WTAMU took a commanding 6-0 lead in the frame. WTAMU would build on the early advantage and produce a 30-23 game two win.

For the game, WTAMU produced 68 digs, including a team-high 20 from junior libero Sara Contreras, and limited the Mustangs to a frustrating .086 team hitting percentage.

The visitors from Canyon finished off the sweep with a 30-24 win in game three to earn their 15th straight-game sweep of the season.

WTAMU volleyball is back in action on Saturday when the team travels to Lawton, Okla., to battle Cameron in a 2 p.m. match-up.
