CANYON, Texas - Sophomore Laura Prinsen notched a team-high 10 kills and three block assists en route to the No. 18 West Texas A&M volleyball team's eighth consecutive victory, a 3-0 (30-22, 30-24, 30-24) sweep of the Abilene Christian Wildcats. With the win, the Lady Buffs improve to 16-5 overall and an unblemished 5-0 mark in Lone Star Conference play.

The Wildcats fell to 7-8 on the season, 3-2 in conference competition.

Sophomore outside hitter Natalie Johnson added to the offensive attack, tallying seven kills, while sophomore Melissa Harper and junior Kelly Culley each added six.

As a team, the Lady Buffs had 10 service aces, with three from Harper and two apiece from Prinsen and freshman Detra Rocha.

On the defensive side, the Lady Buffs recorded two solo blocks - one each from Johnson and Prinsen - and 12 block assists. In addition to Prinsen's three block assists, Harper, Culley, Cherilyn McMenamy and Jamie Lakatos each recorded two.

WTAMU heads to Portales for an 8:00 p.m. match against Eastern New Mexico on Oct. 2 before traveling to Topeka, Kan., for the LSC/RMAC Crossover Tournament next weekend.
