CANYON, Texas - Sophomore outside hitter Natalie Johnson notched a team-high 10 kills and posted a .353 hitting percentage as the No. 18 West Texas A&M volleyball team collected its seventh straight victory Thursday night, sweeping Angelo State (30-12, 30-19 and 30-22) in front of 580 fans at "The Box."

The Rambelles, who were previously unbeaten in Lone Star Conference play, fell to 5-10 overall and 3-1 in league action. West Texas A&M, meanwhile, improves to 15-5 and a perfect 4-0 verses LSC competition.

As a team, the Buffs posted a .247 team hitting percentage while putting up a solid defensive effort and limiting Angelo State to a frustrating -.092 hitting percentage. The Rambelles also committed 38 errors as a team.

Sophomore outside hitter Laura Prinsen notched six kills to bring her team-leading total on the season to 262, while freshman middle blocker Cherilyn McMenamy maintained her high level of play with seven kills and four block assists during the match.

The Lady Buffs are back in action this Saturday when they host Abilene Christian in a 2 p.m. match at "The Box." In addition to getting into the Texas A&M-Kingsville football game for only $5, fans who purchase a Red Zone ticket from any Amarillo Toot-n-Toum location will also be admitted free to the nationally ranked Lady Buff volleyball team's match against Abilene Christian.
