The West Texas A&M University volleyball team won both its matches Saturday at the Lone Star Conference Crossover, hosted by the Abilene Christian University at Abilene, Texas, as the Lady Buffs won their third match in a row.

WTAMU opened the day by edging Texas Woman's University, 3-2 (33-31, 23-30, 25-30, 30-27, 15-8) and then dropped Midwestern State University, 3-1 (29-31, 30-21, 30-22, 30-16) as the Lady Buffs won their third match in a row, after sweeping Texas A&M University-Commerce, 3-0, Friday.

In the win over TWU, senior outside hitter Jill Steininger pounded out a career-high 24 kills on .315 hitting percentage, to lead four Lady Buffs in double-digit kills. Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Altman tallied 14 kills, while sophomore Megan Spivey logged 12 kills to go with a team-high three blocks, while sophomore outside hitter/middle blocker Ambra Clark added 11 kills on a .417 attack percentage. Saturday's wins increases WTAMU's record to 11-7 overall, heading into LSC South action. The Lady Buffs return to Abilene on Thursday to face ACU, the top threat to unseat WTAMU from its throne as LSC South Champions, as the Wildcats were tabbed No. 2 in the LSC South Preseason Poll behind the Lady Buffs, collecting one more first-place vote, but one less point.
