Lady Buffs Sweep Third-Straight Win Friday

The West Texas A&M University Lady Buffs volleyball team won their 11th match of the season today against the University of Central Oklahoma, 3-0 (30-20, 30-25, 30-26), in their first match of the LSC Crossover Tournament being hosted by Midwestern State University, at Wichita Falls, Texas.
The win marks the Lady Buffs 72nd-consectutive victory in all matches vs. conference opponents. With two more victories, WTAMU can tie an NCAA-II record for consecutive wins against conference opponents.
Freshman middle blocker Ambra Clark led the Lady Buffs in 13 kills, while fellow freshmen, middle blocker Megan Spivey and outside hitter Rachel Altman added 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Spivey tied a match-high with five blocks
Senior setter Kendra Morgan had 40 assists for a second consecutive match, and added 14 digs and three blocks.
Senior libero Kacie Hyatt recorded a team-high 17 digs, while freshman outside hitter Jessica Scherr had 15 digs.
The Lady Buffs held UCO to a .097 hitting percentage and limited senior middle blocker Tori Walker to nine kills and a .062 hitting percentage.
The Bronchos came into the match leading the LSC in hitting percentage (.154), but WTAMU erupted with a .242 hitting percentage.
The Lady Buffs improve their record to 11-5 and continue tournament play tomorrow against SE Oklahoma at 11 a.m.
