CANYON, Texas - Freshman middle blocker Cherilyn McMenamy enjoyed the most impressive outing of her young Lady Buff career by collecting eight total blocks on Wednesday night as the No. 19 West Texas A&M volleyball team dispatched Eastern New Mexico in straight games (30-19, 30-28 and 30-22) to improve to 13-5 on the season and 3-0 in Lone Star Conference action.

Another rookie, Jamie Lakatos, was also a force for the Lady Buffs as the Menomonie, Wis., native tallied a team-high 11 kills on 23 total attacks. Sophomore outside hitter Laura Prinsen was also effective, contributing 10 kills while the trio of Natalie Johnson, Melissa Harper and McMenamy tallied eight apiece.

Sophomore setter Katie Rickwartz tossed up 42 assists in the match as the Lady Buffs earned their fifth straight victory over their border rivals from Portales, N.M., who fell to 3-14 on the season.

West Texas A&M volleyball will take the weekend off and return to action at "The Box" on Sept. 25 when the team hosts Panhandle State
