Lady Buffs Swept By St. Edward's Saturday

The West Texas A&M University volleyball team lost for the second match in a row, as the Lady Buffs were swept by St. Edward's University, 3-0 (27-30, 25-30, 23-30), Saturday afternoon at the Lone Star Conference-Heartland Conference Crossover, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma at Edmond, Okla.
WTAMU, which dropped to 8-6 overall, hit just .063 as a team and only had a combined two blocks.
The Lady Buffs didn't have an attacker with double-digit kills, as sophomore outside hitters Rachel Altman and Jessica Scherr, along with classmate outside hitter/middle blocker Ambra Clark all tallied eight kills apiece.
Freshman setter Erin Houlihan registered 28 assists and junior libero Brittani Bell posted 23 digs.
St. Edward's hit .206 and was led by Erika Figueiredo's 14 kills.
WTAMU returns to the friendly confines of The Box on Tuesday, Sept. 21, to take on I-27 rival Lubbock Christian University. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
