The West Texas A&M University volleyball team swept Arkansas Tech, 3-0 (30-23, 30-23, 30-18), Friday in the opening match of the Alamo Classic Tournament at San Antonio, Texas.

The Lady Buffs, ranked No. 17 in the AVCA Top 25 Poll, were led by freshman outside hitter Jessica Scherr's 11 kills. Senior setter Kendra Morgan dished out 34 assists, and senior libero Kacie Hyatt recorded 14 digs.

WTAMU limited Arkansas Tech to -.022 hitting percentage in game one, and .062 for the match.

The Lady Buffs improve to 7-3 on the season, and will return to court Friday night at 7 p.m., to take on co-host St. Mary's.
