Lady Lions Roar Over No. 22 Lady Buffs, 3-0, Friday

The 22nd-ranked West Texas A&M University Lady Buff volleyball team was swept, 3-0 (28-30, 21-30, 26-30) by Missouri Southern State University in the opening match of the Cameron Coca-Cola Classic Friday afternoon at Lawton, Okla. The Lady Buffs hit a paltry .130 attack percentage for the match, including -.022 in the second game, recording 11 kills with 12 errors. Sophomore middle blocker/outside hitter Ambra Clark was the only player for WTAMU in double-digit kills with 11, on a .308 attack percentage, as well as recording a team-high three blocks. Freshman setter Erin Houlihan dished out 30 assists and tallied a match-high 15 digs. Junior libero Brittani Bell added 14 digs. Missouri Southern had three players post double-digit kills, led by Jackie Gallagher's 13, as the Lady Lions hit .272 for the match, and also had a 10-5 team blocking advantage. WTAMU drops to 6-3 and continues action Friday night at 7 p.m. to take on the host and LSC foe Cameron. The Lady Buffs resume Classic action Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against LSC-rival University of Central Oklahoma, who the Lady Buffs have faced in each of the last two years for the LSC Tournament title. -WT-
