Lady Buffs sweep first road match at the Colorado Premier Challenge

CANYON, Texas - The Lady Buffs picked up right where they left off one week ago, as they continued their sweep streak against Northwood University (1-3), beating the Timberwolves 27-25, 25-14, and 25-16 in their first match of the Colorado Premier Challenge. WT's record is now 6-0 on the season. Middle blocker Melissa Harper (Jr-2L, Peoria, Ariz.) got the Lady Buffs to a great start, leading the team in both kills (13) and blocks (6). She also had the best hitting percentage of the match with .619. Outside hitter Natalie Johnson (Jr-2L, Cortez, Colo.) followed closely behind in kills with 10 of her own, and setter Katie Rickwartz (Jr-2L, Canyon, Texas) tallied 41 assists. The Colorado Premier Challenge will continue tonight as the Lady Buffs take on the West Florida Argonauts at 8:30 p.m. CST. Their performances on Friday will determine their opponents on Saturday.
