Ninth-ranked West Texas A&M University was swept by third-ranked Truman State University, 3-0 (27-30, 27-30, 28-30), Friday night at the Division II Premier Challenge at Denver, Colo.

In a rematch of last year's Elite Eight quarterfinal match, TSU dealt WTAMU an identical result, as Saturday the Bulldogs got 18 kills from Sarah Shearman and 17 from Jessica Sears.

The Lady Buffs were led by sophomore middle blocker Cynthia Carter's 15 kills and freshman middle blocker Ambra Clark's 11 kills and five blocks. Senior setter Kendra Morgan, the Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week, had 37 assists.

TSU (7-0) had a .317 hitting percentage, compared to .246 for WTAMU (5-1).

The Lady Buffs fall into the Silver Bracket, where they will meet North Dakota State Saturday at Noon, Mountain Time (1 p.m. Central Time). NDSU won 3-1 Friday over Cameron and lost to Metro State, 3-1.

Earlier Friday, WTAMU edged Mesa State, 3-2 (26-30, 30-21, 30-18, 21-30, 15-12), behind freshman ouside hitter Jessica Scherr's career-high 24 kills and Clark's 12 kills. Morgan dished out a season-high 58 assists.
