GENERAL
First-year player... comes to WTAMU from the University of Texas-Permian Basin... talented prospect who is adaptable at playing various positions... expected to see significant action this season.
2003 AT UT-PERMIAN BASIN
Helped the Falcons to a 23-18 overall record, including 16-6 in the Red River Conference, good for third-place... also helped to UT-Permian Basin qualify for the NAIA Region VI Tournament, where they lost in the quarterfinals... tallied 238 digs (1.90 dpg) and 33 service aces.
HIGH SCHOOL
Zant was an first-team All-District selection for Midland High School, receiving District Defensive MVP honors, in addition to the Permian Basin Athlete of the Year... also was a second-team West Texas selection and was chosen as the Bulldogs' MVP and team captain... played for West Texas Juniors Club.
LADY BUFF BITS
Zant was a two-time Academic All-State selection and a member of the National Honor Society.
COACH GRAYSTONE SAYS
"Amber played last season for UT-Permian Basin, and will join WT this fall as a sophomore. Although primarily a defensive player, Amber can also fill in at outside hitter and probably set with a little training. Amber has a great personality and work ethic, and will fit in really well with the rest of the team."
