Kendra (Morgan) Potts returns for her fourth season with the Lady Buffs' coaching staff after a stellar four-year career in a WTAMU uniform. Potts, an Amarillo, Texas native, was a Lady Buff standout from 2000-2003, and served as WTAMU's graduate assistant after she completed her four-year degree. Potts was a four-time All-LSC honoree and received the Freshman of the Year award, in addition to being a three-time AVCA All-American, four-time All-Southwest Region honoree, Southwest Region Freshman of the Year, LSC South Offensive Player of the Year and the LSC Tournament MVP in 2002, leading the Lady Buffs to their fourth-straight LSC championship NCAA Tournament trip in Kendra's tenure, as well two trips to the Elite Eight in 1999 and in 2002, which was hosted by WTAMU. Potts rewrote the LSC and WTAMU record books with 6,087 career assists, becoming just the 12th person in NCAA-II history with 6,000 career assists. She climbed to 10th on the NCAA-II career list and is third in career average (12.58 apg). Potts recorded six triple-doubles during her senior campaign. The Lady Buffs went 129-16 (.890) in Potts's four years as a Lady Buff, winning four LSC titles and advancing to the Elite Eight twice. Since 2003, Potts has served as a coach at the club level in the Amarillo, Texas, area. She has guided her each of her club teams to the Junior Olympic National tournament in each of her five seasons while coaching at that level. Potts utilizes her Marketing degree by assisting in the WTAMU athletics marketing department during the off-season. Potts resides in Amarillo with her husband, Jim. |
