GENERAL

First-year player... joins the WTAMU program from Flower Mound Marcus High School in Lewisville, Texas... redshirted last year after joining the Lady Buffs in the spring... talented prospect who is expected to give WTAMU added strength at the outside hitter position and make an immediate impact.

HIGH SCHOOL

Barnes was a two-time All-District selection at Flower Mound Marcus High School... also selected as District Offensive Player of the Year for the Marauders... played for Texas Juniors DFW Club.

LADY BUFF BITS

Barnes is one of four Lady Buffs from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex: Rachel Altman, Megan Spivey and Jill Steininger.

COACH GRAYSTONE SAYS

"Courtney joined us during the spring semester, and used 2003 as her redshirt year. She quickly became one of our better outside hitters, and started the majority of our spring games. Once Courtney's block and ball control catch up to her offense, she will be able to do all the things outside hitters do in our system and really help us."
