RICHARDSON, Texas - West Texas A&M softball program had seven players honored as all-Lone Star Conference performers, as announced Thursday by LSC officials.

Kasey Henderson (Soph., Katy, Texas) was honored as a first-team outfield selection. Additionally, Henderson, a transfer from Chipola College, was named LSC South Division Co-Newcomer of the Year, sharing the honor with Angelo State’s Chelsea Nelson.

Lady Buff second baseman Kristina Myles (Fresh., Southlake, Texas) and outfielder Kim LeComte (Fresh., Boerne, Texas) were named to the all-LSC South second team, while catcher Dani Couger (Junior, Colorado Springs, Colo.), first baseman Kaitlyn Witte (Soph., Midland, Texas), shortstop Amber Farr (Junior, Collinsville, Texas) and designated player Meghan Brown (Fresh., Katy, Texas) each earned honorable mention honors.

Abilene Christian’s Jessica Shiery was named LSC South Division Player of the Year, while Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Courtney Rigamonti was named LSC South Pitcher of the Year, Angelo State’s Sandy James earned LSC South Freshman of the Year honors and ACU’s Chantiel Wilson was tabbed as LSC South Coach of the Year. The all-conference honors were selected by the head coaches of the seven South Division teams.
