2009: Brown made appearances at both catcher and designated hitter for the Lady Buffs, starting in 53 of 54 games during her rookie year. Brown turned in a solid hitting performance, boasting a slugging percentage of .522 with 35 runs, 44 hits, seven doubles, one triple, and six home runsin 136 at-bats. Brown had her best offensive game on April 3 in the second game of a doubleheader against Tarleton State, where she went 3-for-4 at the plate, tallying two home runs, scored three runs and drove in five runs. Brown was named the LSC South Division Co-Hitter of the Week on April 7th when she recorded a .778 batting average, went 7-for-9 with a pair of home runs and six RBI's in the three game series against Tarleton State. As catcher for the Lady Buffs, Brown recorded a season high of 13 put-outs in the April 15 game against Oklahoma Panhandle State. High School: Brown attended Katy, Texas, Cinco Ranch HS. A three-year letterwinner at catcher and first base for coach Judy Whillock's Cougars, Brown led all District 18-5A batters with a .418 average during the 2008 season. Over the course of the season, she also tallied a district-leading four HRs while her 38 total hits ranked fifth in earning first-team all-District honors. She also set a District 18-5A single-game record by belting three-consecutive home runs in a game. By season's end she had earned Houston Chronicle and Athlete Connection Player of the Week honors and was selected as her team's Most Valuable Player. Over her career, Brown led Cinco Ranch HS to three district championships, the 2007 Regional finals and was also a 2006 Academic all-District honoree. She also played three seasons for the Katy Heat Gold, batting .395 during the recently completed 2008 season. Personal: Brown is the daughter of JR and Melissa Brown. She has one sister, Sarah.
