Kevin Blaskowski enters his fifth season as head coach of the Lady Buff softball program. Blaskowski was hired in December of 2004 to resurrect the softball program on WTAMU's campus after a 24-year absence. In his first four years, Blaskowski has led the Lady Buffs to an 86-135 mark.

2009 saw the Lady Buffs enjoy their best season yet, recording a record of 35-21, with a 9-8 mark in the Lone Star Conference. The 35 overall wins set a school record along with the record for LSC win percentage (.529). The Lady Buffs hit .342 as a team and scored a total of 401 runs, both new program records.

Blaskowski's 16-year career record as a collegiate head coach is 438-412 (.515) and his teams have qualified for the postseason play in 12 of those 16 seasons.

Blaskowski also serves as the NCAA South Region Chairperson and is a member of the NCAA-II Softball Committee, in addition to also serving as the chairperson of the Lone Star Conference Softball Coaches Committee.

Blaskowski came to WTAMU from Lone Star Conference-rival Eastern New Mexico, where he served as the head coach for one year.

Prior to ENMU, Blaskowski coached at Southern Arkansas for five years, where he started the SAU softball program and led them to the postseason in each of his five years. In 2003, SAU was the co-Champion of the West Division in the Gulf South Conference with a 31-19 overall record and a 19-4 conference mark.

Blaskowski's teams have always posted strong showings in the classroom, as well. In 2004, Eastern New Mexico finished 13th in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Team GPA Rankings. While at Southern Arkansas, Blaskowski's teams finished in the top ten in his last four years. SAU was ranked in the Top 10 of the team grade point average rankings in 1999-00 (5th), 2000-01 (7th), 2001-02 (8th), and 2002-03 (7th).

While at SAU, Blaskowski served as a member of the NCAA Division II South Region rating committee in addition to being named Gulf South Conference Co-Coach of the Year in 2000.

Blaskowski also has served as the head coach at Phillips from 1996-1998. He started the program at Phillips which qualified for postseason play in each of its two seasons before the school closed in 1998.

Blaskowski was also the head coach at Washburn in Topeka, Kan., and Kansas Wesleyan, in Salina, Kan.

He was chosen at the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Coach of the Year at Kansas Wesleyan in 1993 and was selected as the NAIA District 10 Coach of the Year at Kansas Wesleyan University in 1994.

Blaskowski received a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Physical Education from Valley City State (N.D.) in 1986. He completed a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in Health, Physical Education and Recreation at Emporia State in 1989.

Blaskowski also serves as an instructor in the Sports and Exercise Science Department at West Texas A&M. Over his career, Blaskowski has also been an instructor at Eastern New Mexico, Southern Arkansas and Kansas Wesleyan. He was the Sports Information Director at Phillips and Kansas Wesleyan, and also served as head coach of women's basketball at Kansas Wesleyan and Assistant Sports Information Director at Washburn.

Blaskowski and his wife, April, are the parents of two daughters, Kaelyn Rose and Kelsey Rhea.
