The West Texas A&M University women's soccer team was recognized with three members earning National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas All-Midwest Region Honors, announced by the NSCAA.

Senior midfielder Ashleigh Scott, senior defender Chrissy Arndt and freshman forward Sarit Shenar earned second-team accolades.

Although three out of the four teams advancing to the regional tournament were from the Lone Star Conference, all three teams were shut out of the Midwest Region first-team selections.

Scott, a Flower Mound, Texas native and four-year starter for the Lady Buffs, also earned first-team All-LSC honors, LSC All-Academic Team honors, and first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District status. Scott finished her career with 18 goals, eight assists and 44 points.

Arndt, a Stoughton, Wis. native, transferred to WTAMU for her senior year and helped the Lady Buffs to their first ever Midwest Region final appearance. While providing strength and experience in the backfield, Arndt added one goal and one assist on the year. Arndt was also named as a first-team All-LSC selection and to the All-LSC tournament team.

Freshman forward Sarit Shenar was one of three Lady Buffs to receive All-Region honors, after setting new WTAMU single-season marks for goals and points.

Shenar, a Rehovot, Israel native, arrived at WTAMU after the season was already in progress but she never missed a beat. Shenar netted a team-high 21 goals in 15 games while adding five assists for 47 points. In her rookie season at WTAMU, Shenar set a new school record for single season goals and total points, and was tabbed as a first-team All-LSC honoree and was named the LSC Tournament MVP.

Senior defender Chrissy Arndt was one of the Lady Buffs to receive All-Region honors, after anchoring a defense that didn't allow a goal in 10-straight games.

WTAMU ended the season with a 15-4-2 record as they claimed the LSC tournament titles, while advancing to the Midwest Region final. WTAMU was ranked No.14 in the final NSCAA National Poll, released yesterday. This is the highest season-ending ranking the Lady Buffs have received.

The Lady Buffs received one other award from the NSCAA, as WTAMU was one of three LSC teams awarded the NSCAA Team Academic Award. With a cumulative grade point average of 3.17, the Lady Buffs had the second highest GPA among the LSC teams, along with Texas Woman's (3.28) and Angelo State (3.07).
