CANYON, Texas - West Texas A&M women's soccer senior forward Sarit Shenar (Rehovot, Israel) was named first team Daktronics Midwest Region on Tuesday, as voted on by the sports information directors of the region.

Shenar, who led the Lone Star Conference with 22 goals, 16 assists and 60 points this season, earned LSC Offensive and Academic Player of the Year honors and was twice named LSC Offensive Player of the Week. Shenar is the WTAMU all-time leader in goals (72), assists (33) and points (179).

Joining Shenar from the LSC is Kristen Boister from Angelo State and Lindsay Null of Central Oklahoma.

"It is well deserved for Sarit, not many people have scored as many goals as she has and done so much on and off the field," said WTAMU head coach Butch Lauffer.

All first-team selections move on to the national ballot and are eligible for All-America honors. This is the first year that Daktronics has sponsored soccer All-Region and All-America teams.
