CANYON, Texas – Seven members of the #7 West Texas A&M Lady Buff soccer team were honored with Lone Star Conference postseason awards announced Thursday night on the campus of West Texas A&M during the annual LSC Championship Banquet.

Five Lady Buffs were named to the all-LSC first team: Adi Stein (Nesher, Israel), Kayla Sisco (Amarillo, Texas), Miriam Dominguez (El Paso, Texas), Nadia James (Morvant, Trinidad and Tobago) and Lindsay McHorse (Georgetown, Texas).

McHorse is the team leader in goals (12) and total points (31) while fellow first-teamer Dominguez is tied for the lead in assists with 7.

Sisco was also named the Co-Defensive Player of the Year, as she has been the backbone of the WT defense that has given up only seven goals this season.

Kelly Skekan (JR, Klein, Texas) was named to the all-LSC second team as she has become a force in goal for the Lady Buffs in her first season in Canyon. Skehan has recorded 1233:26 minutes in goal this season, allowing just five goals and tallying 55 saves.

Sophomore midfielder Melanie Shannon (Kelowna, BC) was named honorable mention for her efforts on the pitch. This season, Shannon has scored two goals and added four assists for a total of eight points.

The LSC also announced their All-Academic awards at the banquet; as Sisco, Taylor Cromeens (El Paso, Texas) and Becky Hewson (Cambridge, England) were all named to the LSC Commisioner's Honor Roll for their efforts in the classroom.
