CANYON, Texas - Junior defender Megan Szydloski, a public relations major with a 3.46 grade point average, was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team earlier this week for her efforts in the classroom.

The Amarillo, Texas, native's strong defensive play has helped the West Texas A&M defense hold opponents to just 17 goals (1.19 goals against average) and also has helped the Lady Buff goalkeepers record six shutouts.

Yesterday, Szydloski helped WTAMU beat Angelo State in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament to advance to the semi-finals. The Lady Buffs face No. 2 Midwestern State today at Noon; the Tournament is hosted by LSC regular season champion Central Oklahoma at Tom Thompson Field.
