Senior Sarit Shenar Named Academic All-District VI First Team

CANYON, Texas - The College Sports Information Directors of America named West Texas A&M senior soccer player Sarit Shenar ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI First Team for the second consecutive season.

Shenar, who has helped lead her team into the NCAA Regional Tournament this weekend, has scored 21 goals this season along with 16 assists. She has also done her part in the classroom, managing a 3.75 GPA with a major in chemistry.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

Shenar is just one of two athletes from the Lone Star Conference to be honored on the first team; joining her is Chelsea Edwards of Southwestern Oklahoma.
