Lady Buff Soccer Going to NCAA Division II Tournament

For the first time since 2004, the West Texas women's soccer team will be heading to the NCAA Division II Tournament. The Lady Buffs will be the fourth seed and will play Midwest Region No.1 seed Metro State in the first round in Denver, Colo., on Friday. The Lady Buffs, 14-3-1 overall will play at 12 p.m. CST against Metro State for only the eighth time in school history. The Roadrunners are going into the NCAA Tournament after losing in the second round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament to Fort Lewis. Similar to Metro, WTAMU is also coming off a second round loss in its conference tournament to Texas A&M-Commerce. In the following match, Lone Star Conference rival and No. 3 seed Central Oklahoma will play second seed St. Edwards. The winners of each match will play at 1 p.m. CST on Sunday. For the Lady Buffs, this is their fifth time in six year's to make the NCAA Tournament.
