The West Texas A&M University women's soccer team remains ranked fourth in the NCAA-II Midwest Region Rankings, released Wednesday (Oct. 19), by the NCAA.

The NCAA-II women's soccer championship will provide for a 32-team, single-elimination tournament. Four teams will be chosen from each of the eight regions established by the women's soccer committee. For first- and second-round competition, teams will be paired in their respective regions with the No. 1 seed playing the No. 4 seed; and No. 2 seed playing the No. 3 seed on Friday, November 11. The winners of each game will advance to play one another on Sunday, November 13. First- and second-round games will be played at the same site.

The winner in each region will advance to the quarterfinals to be played on either Saturday, November 19 or Sunday, November 20. Championship selections will take place Monday, November 7.

The Lady Buffs are seeking their fifth-straight trip to the regional tournament, as they advanced to the Regional semifinals in 2003 for the first time in school history.

WTAMU is the highest-ranked Lone Star Conference team, as Texas A&M University-Commerce is sixth and the University of Central Oklahoma is seventh.

The Lady Buffs are 8-3-1 overall and 5-0 in LSC action, taking over sole possession of first-place in the conference, with four matches remaining.

WTAMU returns home for the final time on Friday and Sunday, Oct. 21 and 23, against Southwestern Oklahoma State University and second-place Central Oklahoma, respectively.
