Freshman forward Sarit Shenar, a member of the West Texas A&M University women's soccer team, has been called up by the Israeli National Team to play in the European Championship qualifying match vs. Belarus on Oct. 18.

Shenar, a Rehovot, Israel native, has made a smashing debut as a Lady Buff, netting six goals in four games. She netted two in her first game in a WTAMU uniform, leading the Lady Buffs to a 3-0 win over Southwestern Oklahoma on Sept. 19. Shenar added two more goals in WTAMU's 4-1 victory over Fort Lewis on Sept. 24 and netted two goals in a 4-1 win over Colorado Christian on Sunday. She also had an assist in the Fort Lewis match, giving her a team-high 13 points.

Shenar has had successful previous National Team experience, coming on as a substitute and scoring a goal late in a UEFA qualifying match vs. Romania to tie the score. She also had a goal in Isreal's 4-1 victory over Estonia qualifying match in early August. Israel recently tied Kazakhstan, setting up the match with Belarus for first place in the group and advance to the next round.
