Shenar Sets-up Two Goals in Israel's 2-2 Tie with Poland
May 11, 2007 CANYON, Texas - In the 32nd and 38th minute of play, former West Texas A&M soccer All-American Sarit Shenar set-up two goals for Israel in their 2-2 tie against Poland for a Union of European Football Association (UEFA) Women's Championship qualifying match on Thursday. With the tie the Israeli's remain unbeaten and will play again on May 30 against Russia. The match was knotted at zero until the Poles scored the first goal in the 30th minute. Israel tied the match at one when Or Erez found the back of the net on a pass from Shenar. The Israeli's took a short lead when Rachel Shelina hit pay dirt, with Shenar assisting again. However, Poland evened the score before halftime in the 41st minute, with the second half producing no goals. After their battle with Russia at the end of this month, Israel plays Norway on June 17, before their rematch against Poland on June 21.
