EDMOND, Okla. - It was a tight contest between the two top ranked teams in the Lone Star Conference on Friday, as the West Texas A&M women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker to No. 21 Central Oklahoma in overtime. The Lady Buffs held off the Bronchos through regulation, but gave up the game-winning goal in the 92nd minute, 1:13 into the overtime period.

The loss drops WTAMU to 11-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the LSC, while UCO boasts a 13-3 record, including a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play.

Freshman forward Kendal Kitchens and sophomore midfielder Samantha Calcote notched the team's only two shots on goal in a match where the Lady Buffs got off a season-low seven shots. UCO, meanwhile, managed 16 shots, 11 of which were on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Pipkin made 10 saves in the loss.

The Lady Buffs' next match is Sunday, Oct. 15 against Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Okla., with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
