CANYON, Texas - The West Texas A&M women’s soccer team shutout Texas A&M-Commerce 3-0 Saturday, October 10 in front of 210 fans in Commerce, Texas.

This win brings the Lady Buffs to a 9-1-1 (3-1 LSC) record and drops Texas A&M-Commerce to 6-5 (1-2 LSC).

Melissa Carnero (FR, Amarillo, Texas) scored off of a shot deflected by the goalie when she blasted it into the left corner early in the match.

Miriam Dominguez (SR, El Paso, Texas) scored in the same manner in the 53^rd minute of the game when the goalie deflected another shot which Dominguez kicked into the goal.

Lindsay McHorse (SO, Georgetown, Texas) grabbed the final goal assisted by Melanie Shannon (SO, Kelowna, BC) in the 66^th minute.

Kelly Skehan (JR, Klein, Texas) picked up the win in goal with three saves in her 74 minutes on the field.

The Lady Buffs travel to Denton, Texas to face off against Texas Woman’s University on October 12 at 12:00 p.m. CT.
