Junior midfielder Kelly Ulm netted her first goal of the season to lead the West Texas A&M University women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Midwestern State University in a Lone Star Conference match Friday afternoon at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium, as part of WTAMU's Homecoming festivities.

With the win, WTAMU improves to 5-3-1 overall and 2-0 in LSC action, while MSU slips to 4-5-1 overall and 2-1 in LSC play.

After a scoreless first half, Ulm netted a header off a crossing pass from senior midfielder Roxy Sides in the 70th minute.

WTAMU outshot MSU, 18-2, but only four of the Lady Buffs' shots were on goal, as MSU goalkeeper Elli O'Dwyer made three saves. Both of the Lady Indians' shots were on goal, with WTAMU sophomore netminder Sarah Anderson saving both of them, recording her second shutout of the season.

The Lady Buffs return to the turf of Kimbrough Memorial Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 9, to take on Angelo State University at 1 p.m.
