PUEBLO, Colo. -- The West Texas A&M University Lady Buff women's soccer team cured its short scoring woes with a 4-2 win at Colorado State University-Pueblo Sunday afternoon.

On Friday, WTAMU had been shutout, 3-0, at No. 7 Regis University.

Sunday, the Lady Buffs found the back of the net early, as senior midfielder Misti Northcutt netted an unassisted goal, her first of the season, in the 18th minute for a 1-0 lead.

The Thunderwolves tied the score at 1-all in the 29th minute, before junior midfielder Whitney McClain tallied her first goal of the year, off and assist from senior defender Roxy Sides, in the 32nd minute.

CSU-P knotted the score even at 2 in the 49th minute, but freshman defender Sally deJongh hit from 30 yards out for a 3-2 WTAMU lead, and junior forward Sarit Shenar tacked on the insurance goal in the 84th minute.

The Lady Buffs return home to resume Lone Star Conference action, hosting Midwestern State University and Angelo State University, on Friday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 9, respectively, as part of WTAMU Homecoming festivities. Friday's match starts at 2 p.m., with Sunday's match kicking at 1 p.m., both at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium.
